A Malaysian customer has successfully improved salad processing efficiency by using the Model 870 fully automatic filter press.

In modern salad production facilities, managing large volumes of slurry while maintaining strict hygiene and efficiency standards remains a key challenge. To help processors overcome these operational difficulties, the Model 870 Automatic Filter Press has been deployed in a recent salad processing project, delivering outstanding filtration performance and operational stability.

 

Project Background

The client, a large-scale salad processing plant, required an advanced filtration solution to manage slurry generated during vegetable washing and processing. Each production batch ranges from 700–800 kg, and the process operates within 25–70°C temperature and pH 0–9 conditions.

Traditional manual or semi-automatic filtration systems could not maintain consistent quality or hygiene, often leading to longer downtime and high water consumption. The customer’s primary goals were to:

Improve slurry dewatering efficiency;

Ensure compliance with food hygiene standards;

Reduce manual labor and maintenance frequency;

Enable recycling of process water and minimize waste discharge.


Technical Solution

To meet these requirements, engineers recommended the Model 870 Automatic Filter Press, a system designed for high-capacity and hygienic food processing operations.

High-Capacity Filtration: A total 50 m² filtration area supports a daily throughput of up to 2400 kg, ensuring smooth, continuous production.

Precision Filtration: The press uses nylon filter cloths (100–150 micron), maintaining clear filtrate quality under varying pH and temperature conditions.

Automated Control: A fully automated feed and closure mechanism minimizes manual intervention, improving efficiency and ensuring consistent operation.

Temperature Adaptability: The equipment maintains stability across a 25–70°C operating range, suitable for salad and vegetable processing environments.

System Applications: Salad wash water filtration and recycling, Vegetable slurry dewatering,By-product recovery and waste reduction, Process water clarification and reuse.

 

Customer Feedback

Following commissioning, the client reported that the Model 870 system significantly improved production efficiency and product hygiene.
