Project Background
A water-based ink manufacturer was generating 2–4 m³ of production wastewater per day. With local environmental authorities tightening regulations on industrial wastewater discharge, the company faced three pressing challenges:
1. Achieve filtration precision below 20 microns, targeting pigment particles, resin impurities, and other suspended solids to meet discharge standards.
2. Fit into a compact corner workspace, operate without reliable access to electricity, and allow easy operation for non-technical workers.
3. Control initial investment and ongoing maintenance costs, as the plant wanted an economical solution without creating a heavy operational burden.
The factory's previous basic filtration setup failed to reach required precision, produced high-moisture filter cakes, and resulted in repeated regulatory warnings.
Technical Solution
After reviewing the factory's operating conditions, we recommended a 450 mm manual jack filter press, model XAMQ10/450-30, designed to match both the treatment capacity and on-site constraints:
1. 450 mm × 450 mm plates, 24 pieces, providing a 10 m² filtration area, ideal for the daily wastewater volume.
2. Manual screw jack tightening system, delivering 0.6 MPa working pressure without any external power source—perfect for narrow space and off-grid operation.
3. Reinforced polypropylene plates with strong resistance to ink wastewater, paired with special polyester filter cloth, stabilizing filtration accuracy at 15–20 microns.
Compact footprint (2.48 × 0.8 × 0.9 m) and significantly lower cost than automated presses, while the simple plate-changing mechanism reduces maintenance needs.
This configuration provided a low-cost, high-precision, and space-efficient wastewater treatment solution tailored to the customer's production environment.
Customer Feedback
Since deployment, the filter press has delivered noticeable improvements:
Daily treatment capacity increased to 5 m³, exceeding production requirements.
Zero failures reported, with no leakage or plate damage.
Operators, after brief training, can independently complete pressing and cake discharge processes with ease.
The customer highlighted the system's reliability, filtration precision, and low operating cost, noting that the solution not only resolved the compliance issue but also strengthened their overall wastewater management capability.
